CTRN Research Study

Participating in research studies plays a crucial role in advancing science and improving lives. Every volunteer contributes valuable data that helps researchers better understand complex issues, develop new treatments and therapies, and refine technologies to benefit society. Whether it's through clinical trials, behavioral studies, or surveys, participant involvement bridges the gap between theory and real-world application. By choosing to take part, individuals not only support scientific discovery but also help ensure that findings are relevant, diverse, and applicable to a wide range of people. Ultimately, participation is a powerful and meaningful way to contribute to the progress of knowledge and the future of healthcare, technology, and social development.

The Participant Registry

A cornerstone of the TX-CTRN’s research is the development of a Participant Registry. This registry collects comprehensive, longitudinal data from youth aged 8-20 who have experienced a traumatic event.

Participants and their caregivers complete interviews and questionnaires over an extended period (up to two years), allowing researchers to track the long-term emotional, behavioral, and neurobiological changes that follow trauma exposure. The research covers a wide spectrum of trauma types, including physical and sexual abuse, neglect, community violence, natural disasters, and the loss of a loved one.

The CTRN is currently recruiting for this research study. More than 3,400 individuals have already joined. Click below for more details, and to see eligibility requirements.
